What is IUI?

It is a procedure for the treatment of couples who are having difficulty in conceiving. Here the husband’semen sample is processed and the most motile sperms are placed in the uterus near the opening of the tubes.

Who needs IUI?

Couples who have been trying for one year and not able to conceive can benefit from this procedure.

What is the success rate of IUI?

Success rate of IUI is 20%.

Can patients with blocked tubes benefit from IUI?

Patients with blocked tubes will not benefit from IUI. They should consider IVF.

How much time does this procedure take ?

Entire procedure takes about 1-2 hrs.

Do I have to take bed rest after the procedure?

No

Can I make a relation with my partner while/after undergoing IUI?

Yes you can have a normal relation while undergoing this procedure.

Is it a painful procedure?

No, it is not painful at all. It can be done in your Doctor’s OPD Chamber.
